Belmont Park Race Track

Belmont Park Race Track, located in Elmont just outside of New York City, is a race track for flat races. It’s the home of Belmont Stakes (known as The Test of the Champion), the third leg of the Triple Crown.

Belmont Park has three courses. The Main Track, called Big Sandy, has a circumference of 2 400 meters, making it the longest dirt thoroughbred racetrack in North America. Inside of Big Sandy is the Widener Turf Course spanning about 2 100 meters. The Widener Turf Course encircles an Inner Turf Course with a circumference of around 1 900.

The race track has two restaurants, The Garden Terrace Dining Room and Heritage Club Food Court. It also has a picnic area, and bars and concession stands throughout the facility.
